Chapter Chair: Jerry Lustig
Born and raised in Brooklyn New York, Jerry completed his college/graduate studies specializing in Finance and Economics. In his 35 years with IBM he compiled a broad range of experience in Accounting, Financial Planning, Manufacturing, Distribution, Marketing programs development and Sales operations. These multiple skills give him the ability to help SCORE clients develop winning short and long term plans. Jerry joined SCORE in Oct 2004 and is the current Chapter Chair.
Vice Chair of Marketing: William C. Zinno
A native of Massachusetts, William C. Zinno Has a BS Degree in Electrical Engineering from Worcester Polytechnic Institute in Worcester, MA and an MBA from the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, MI. For Most of his career, he has held positions of increasing responsibility in the Manufacturing Operations area. He has served as Vice President of Manufacturing for both Dresser-Rand Company in Olean, NY and Miller Electric, a Division of Illinois Tool Works, in Appleton, WI. In addition to his corporate career, he has small business experience in retailing. He retired in 2006 and relocated to Raleigh from Ohio, joining SCORE the same year.
Immediate Past Chair: John R. O'Connor
A native of New York, John received a Bachelor of Civil Engineering degree from Manhattan College, an MPH (Industrial Health) from the University of Michigan, and an MBA from Duke University. He worked for the US Environmental Protection Agency where he was managing programs to evaluate the economic impacts of environmental regulations. He then served as Operations Manager for Radian Corporation, an environmental consulting company providing services to both the private and public sectors. After leaving Radian, he served as a Vice President for Eastern Research Group, managing their environmental services in Research Triangle Park. He retired in 2000 and joined SCORE at that time. He has served as Secretary, Vice Chair, and Chair of the Raleigh Chapter.
Secretary: Louis H. Martin
A native of North Carolina, Lou has a BS degree in engineering from North Carolina State University and an MBA from the University of South Carolina. He is a Registered Professional Engineer and a Certified Purchasing Manager. He has more than 30 years of management experience with DuPont and Progress Energy. At various timed during his career Lou was responsible for engineering, training, analytical laboratories, facilities, contracting, purchasing, and warehousing. Lou has experience in mentoring and financing small businesses. In 2009, Lou had investments in seven small companies as a limited partner in a venture capital fund and in two other small companies through direct investments. Lou joined SCORE in 2005.
Treasurer: David Zendels
Born and raised in Brooklyn New York, David earned a BME from Cooper Union and an MBA from the University of Bridgeport. He held various positions, for nine years, with GE in the area of manufacturing. He spent thirteen years with Huyck Corporation, an international supplier to the paper industry, starting in manufacturing, switching to finance and eventually becoming the corporate treasurer. Since 1989 he has been providing financial counseling to a variety of small businesses. David joined SCORE in September 2005 and is the current chapter treasurer.
Information Technology: Paul Wolf
Born in Trenton, NJ and graduated from Rutgers University with a Major in Economics. Paul worked for General Electric Company and successor companies (Harris and Intersil) in their Finance Departments for 36 years. There he received training in the GE Financial Management Program (MBA Equivalent) and worked in most financial areas, including financial planning, accounting systems and IT interfacing and in Human Resources. Because of his varied financial background, he is well suited for helping clients develop business plans. Paul joined SCORE in Feb 2004 and currently serves as IT chairman.
Vice Chair Administration: Sue La Joie
Born and raised in Central Wisconsin, Sue studied fine art at the Universities of Wisconsin and Minnesota. Working in enterprise IT with Monsanto and IBM, Sue transitioned those skills to the business she and her husband started when moving to Raleigh in 2002. They perform scientific data research in addition Sue works in graphic design for their company. Sue joined Raleigh SCORE in March 2007 and is Vice Chair of Administration.
