Chapter Chair: Sue La Joie
Born and raised in Central
Wisconsin, Sue studied fine art at the Universities of
Wisconsin and Minnesota. Working in enterprise IT with
Monsanto and IBM, Sue transitioned those skills to the
business she and her husband started when moving to
Raleigh in 2002. They perform scientific data research
in addition Sue works in graphic design for their
company. Sue joined Raleigh SCORE in March 2007 and is
current Chapter Chair.
Vice Chair of Marketing: William C. Zinno
A native of Massachusetts, William C. Zinno Has a BS Degree in Electrical Engineering from Worcester Polytechnic Institute in Worcester, MA and an MBA from the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, MI. For Most of his career, he has held positions of increasing responsibility in the Manufacturing Operations area. He has served as Vice President of Manufacturing for both Dresser-Rand Company in Olean, NY and Miller Electric, a Division of Illinois Tool Works, in Appleton, WI. In addition to his corporate career, he has small business experience in retailing. He retired in 2006 and relocated to Raleigh from Ohio, joining SCORE the same year.
Vice Chair Administration: Terri Craig
Born
and raised in Ann Arbor, Michigan, Terri earned her BS
degree in social work at Eastern Michigan University.
She has also completed post-graduate courses in the
areas of finance, organizational development, marketing
and international management. During her 30-years
experience with McDonald’s Corporation, Terri held
regional, division and corporate operational leadership
positions. She has extensive experience in business
planning and assisting franchise owners in effectively
managing and growing their business. Terri joined SCORE
in June 2009.
Vice Chair Information Technology: Lamar Bishop
Lamar is a native of
Georgia. He earned a Bachelor of Electrical Engineering
Degree from Georgia Tech and a MSEE from the University
of Maryland. His industrial experience includes design
and development of products for military, space, and
telecommunications applications with Westinghouse, ITT,
and Alcatel. As a manager and director in the
telecommunications area, he managed major local and
international product development programs. As a
consultant, Lamar assisted several major telecom
manufacturing and operating companies and startups in
their efforts to start, improve, and/or change their
business structure for better approach to new and
emerging demands. He retired and joined SCORE in 2002
and has previously held the position of Secretary and Vice Chair.
Secretary: Joe Hoffman
A native of Pittsburgh, Joe moved to the Raleigh area in 2009 after 30 years in Cleveland, OH. He has a Bachelor of Science Degree in Administration & Management Science from Carnegie Mellon University and an MBA from Baldwin-Wallace College. His 40 years business experience includes positions in general management, production planning, industrial engineering, mergers and acquisitions, and consulting. He served as Chief Operating Officer and a member of the Board of Directors of CSM Industries after a management buyout of the company and Vice President, Operations of H. C. Starck, a subsidiary of Bayer Corporation. Joe’s international management experience includes responsibility for operations in the United Kingdom, Germany, and China. He is currently a principal in PentaMet Associates LLC, a firm providing consulting services to companies producing specialty materials.
Treasurer: David Zendels
Born and raised in Brooklyn
New York, David earned a BME from Cooper Union and an
MBA from the University of Bridgeport. He held
various positions, for nine years, with GE in the area
of manufacturing. He spent thirteen years with Huyck
Corporation, an international supplier to the paper
industry, starting in manufacturing, switching to
finance and eventually becoming the corporate
treasurer. Since 1989 he has been providing financial
counseling to a variety of small businesses. David
joined SCORE in September 2005 and is the current
chapter treasurer.
Immediate Past Chair: John R. O'Connor
A native of New York, John received a Bachelor of Civil Engineering degree from Manhattan College, an MPH (Industrial Health) from the University of Michigan, and an MBA from Duke University. He worked for the US Environmental Protection Agency where he was managing programs to evaluate the economic impacts of environmental regulations. He then served as Operations Manager for Radian Corporation, an environmental consulting company providing services to both the private and public sectors. After leaving Radian, he served as a Vice President for Eastern Research Group, managing their environmental services in Research Triangle Park. He retired in 2000 and joined SCORE at that time. He has served as Secretary, Vice Chair, and Chair of the Raleigh Chapter.
